Ponk Rogga Shindig 4/29/11
Ian's parents were supposedly venturing to Mexico for vacation, so as always, we jumped at the opportunity to set up a show in his foul-smelling garage. We promoted it using Facebook and the ultimate powers of the Internet. Lo and behold, a considerable amount of people claimed that they were to come and join the festivity. However, there was a bit of a mixup where Ian thought his parents were not going to follow through with their plans. We moved it to Mason's grimy lair instead (aka the masonic lodge), Which had the capacity to fit more people.

The Bandz:
- Stud Muffin opened it up with some surfy sounding punk goodness and awkward silence.
- Manuel's other band, Otacon (RIP lol) belted out the stylish jamz while Peter crooned smooth notes to lyrics about Japanese girls.
- Backstab(ber) was up next and played a set shorter than the time it takes to tie my shoes. Francis argued with everyone. People laughed.
- We were up next (watch our set below!).
- After us was Cold Stare, who summoned the blonde-haired, blue-eyed mosh with their songs about loving amurika. oi!
- Sleep Walk broke out the cigars and beerz in true rich boy fashion. Alberto took off his shirt to expose his belly. Great band.
- Our other band Stopping Power headlined it after not playing for 11 months (The last time we played before that was in Japan. lol) Fun set, intense!
All the bands were awesome, and there was a positive energy all around. A good time with good friends. For those that would like to check it out, here are some videos and pictures of the ponker shindig.
Our set. We are the perfect soundtrack for sitting down and texting.

We are now a Christian band.
Last month our good friend Wesley from Remain In Vain landed us a show with them at their affluent private Christian school. Apparently a member of the band had to have been Christian for us to play there. Thus, we are now a Christian band and will be playing Christian ballads, that is, until May 21, 2011 on the Apocalypse. In the meantime, check out pictures and video from the show!
Christian bands deserve technologically superior Christian stages to play Christian songs on.
It might have looked like no one was watching us, but there were 3 people there.

In Chula Vista we have the privilege of being friends with some incredibly talented yet incredibly unmotivated individuals. Today I will share the exploits of one such individual.

Our first show-12/27/2011
We hopped on this show one night, which happened in Mason's Grimy Lair (aka a roomy shed in his backyard). I forgot who else was on the bill- I just remember Deadlined and LOL Stare belting out da mad jamz. This was the first show we played as a full band (just one more member: Manuel haha), as we played at the Park Gallery with just Aaron and me a few weeks before, but I digress. Check it out for yourself.

Rock For Japan's Relief
Our good friend Rie from Japan has put together a compilation to benefit the victims of the earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan earlier this year. The compilation will be on both CD and digital formats, and features bands from all over the world, including DOOM, Outspoken, Death Crisis, Naked Aggression, Vitamin X, Everybody's Enemy, Rie's own band DAMMIT HONEY, as well as San Diego bands Anthrot, Common Enemy, and Raineir and Aaron's band Tantive-IV (on the digital version).
This is Rie's statement on the RFJR website:

The Mortimer Greene EP: Coming Soon!
A few weeks back, we recorded songs on a laptop using a torrented copy of Protools. We're calling this particular session "The Mortimer Greene EP," 8 tracks of punkrock nonsense for your ears to love or hate, and maybe everything in between. Fueled by withdrawals from the demands of Academia, as well as the continual pondering of what it would be like to own Moon Shoes, it may tickle your fancy if you miss what it was like to live in the simpler times of one and a half decades ago. Be on the lookout for this, and we will keep you updated.
If you would like to feel the same way as the girl in the picture, click here for a little sample of tunes.
Thanks!

Recording
We recorded with Mr. Alex Jacobelli (check out his band!) sometime in March 2011, at his House of Wonders (aka a concrete room-turned-studio inside of a warehouse) in Escondido, CA. 'Twas a good time indeed. We cranked them out in about 24 or so hours total over a period of one month (or so), and the mixing took just as long. Here are a few pictures of those eventful days. Enjoy.
